FAQ

When should I start shopping for a mortgage and how do I know what I can afford?

The best time to look for a mortgage is before you look for a house. This way you'll know exactly the amount of money you can borrow. You can use the calculators on this site to help you determine these numbers as well as your estimated monthly payments. Get approved for a mortgage before shopping for a home and you'll maximize your negotiating power.

FAQ

If I am short of cash, do I have options to help with down payment and closing costs?

There are a number of options that may help you if you do not have much cash to purchase a home. You can look into one of our low down payment programs. These programs may require as little as 3% for a down payment. Please call us directly to discuss these programs/options in details.

FAQ

What is the best loan program for me?

That depends on a number of factors, including:

  • How long you'll stay in the home;
  • How much money you'll put down;
  • How you'll finance the closing costs.

You may be able to deduct the interest you pay on the mortgage loan and some of the financing costs of the home, such as points. And your property taxes could be deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.

FAQ

Who can tell me what my property taxes will be?

The seller and/or your Realtor should provide you with the current taxes for the property. Property taxes are reassessed from time to time, so this amount may change. Contact your county Recording office to confirm what  your taxes would be.
